I was not a close friend of Gabe just like Tom Page was. But i can tell that Gabe was classy, always smiling, encouraging
is teammates on the field. No big words, no complaining on the refs. I miss that guy to play ballhockey with.
It took me a long time to make that web page and i apologize. But i hope, with this page online, i will receive more
words from people. Gabe, you will be remember forever here. Thank you for being that smiling guy, i'll always
remember you like that, just like on the picture.

It is with a heavy heart that i have to announce the passing of one of my good friends Gabe Valente.
He passed away of a heart attack while driving to work this morning.
We went to school together and he played ball hockey on all my different teams
for over 20 years.
All the winter and summer guns who new him new he was a great guy and one of the best
team players ever---he had to stop playing last season as he kept complaining of pains in his chest and no longer wanted to
take the chance of playing as he told me many times that things in his body did not feel right.
His notice should be in the gazette mabye tomorrow or the next day.
We never know when our time will come to an end----so enjoy life every
day for as long as we can.
Tom

I had the good fortunate of meeting and playing with and against Gabe.
He was a very good person and the type of player that felt comfortable and belonged in CASC. He loved
how well organized CASC was/is and its committed passionate volunteers. I will always remember how he used to talk
about CASC: "Theo, this league has everything but one thing: LA Laker Cheerleaders. That's all that's missing!" (I'm
paraphrasing). Later he would shorten the comment to "Theo! The Laker girls!" every time he saw me. He always brought a smile
to my face with that in-side joke. He is still doing it now...
